Teacher exchange in Baciu, Romania, April 2006

The most refreshing Comenius experience of the year took place between the 3rd – the 7th of April 2006. Scoala Speciala "Transilvania" resounded of music, laughter and the joy of working together. It was the week of art, a week of feeling free to express your emotions, by using various entertaining manners. Everybody had so much fun joining and working together! Romanian teachers, pupils and their parents - guided by two Dutch specialists - experienced new ways of expressing themselves, by using:
• Social-Emotional Training
• Music
• Drama
• Music and drama combined.
These extremely interesting and entertaining workshops were designed according to pupils’ age, but mostly in relation with their mental level.
Lots of new musical instruments – donated by School Lyndensteyn for Scoala Speciala "Transilvania" – these will help the Romanian pupils to express themselves artistically.
This was a very prolific week for Romanian teachers. They wanted to disseminate this beautiful experience by inviting parents and specialists from the other similar institutions to find out more about the innovative methods.
