Teacher exchange in Beetsterzwaag, The Netherlands, March 2006

Three Romanian specialists - two teachers and one physiotherapist - exchanged experience with their Dutch colleagues, during the 6th – the 10th of March 2006.
The focus areas of this visit were:
• Assisting classes (primary and secondary) + curriculum
• Re-using materials creatively
• Adapted labour
• Social-emotional training
• The schedule projection strategy for teachers and therapists
• Physiotherapy
• Hydrotherapy – Halliwick method
• Horse-riding therapy.
After a week working according the Dutch educational model, it became very clear that the Dutch curriculum for SEN pupils emphasizes the practical implications of education, all activities aiming the daily living skills. This practical approach is actually the main and basic difference between the two National Curricula (Dutch and Romanian).
